Our work in Kern County spotlights immigrants’ rights, criminal justice, and voting rights. Some of our notable work includes fighting for immigrants’ right to legal counsel, exposing and curtailing harmful police practices, and fighting against Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE)’s illegal practices.

In Kern County, we work in the city of Bakersfield and in North Kern. In 2018, the ACLU SoCal opened an office in Bakersfield.
